Cotswolds Corker 106km Road Ride.
=========================
This was a roady ride that an MTB would struggle with. A 25% climb in the first mile up to 850', drop down to 275' at Winchcombe then up Soudley back up to just under 1000', all in the first 7 miles. I rode this AUK event with the CCCC group, and we worked well together as a group. Sure we regrouped at the tops but there was little waiting to be done.
I felt fine most of the way round. THe GPS tracklog Paul did worked flawlessly, except we went a bit off course at Daneway. Nick went home after the Calfway, I think he'd cooked it.

At Sadlers farm we saw the artic off the road and took a picture, then climbed up to Colesbourne and then on the Kilkenny. Down Corndean I felt a bit weak, made worse by a front wheel puncture, I was bonking but it didn't feel like I was. Up the back of Cleeve I went off the back. Paul waited the 30 secs or so and we dropped back down to Woodmancote.

Super ride. 1540m of climbing in 106km. Strong riders for company.

I rode on my new Focus Cayo Expert, which behaved impeccably, and is super lightweight. I'm well chuffed with it. Good leveller for me, what with the HONC and Marmotte on the agenda.

Still want to go windsurfing, but what with the terrible weather and complete lack of wind, it's not exactly high in my mind.

72 miles, in 5:30 with steep hills...

Thanks Paul.
